Overview
Render maintenance for mechanical oriented functions such as service, repair, install and maintain construction equipment, water control equipment and related infrastructure as typically found on dams and water distribution networks (pumps, pipes, valves, sluices, auxiliary drives, cranes, water vessels). Routine inspections of visible, operational and safety defects, planning repairs and reporting of defects to Supervisor.
Requirements
- An Appropriate Diesel Mechanical Trade Test Certificate
- The disclosure of a valid unexpired code EB driver’s license
- Willing to perform production work, standby and overtime when required
- The applicant must be able to work with limited supervision
- Strong technical communication skills in English, coupled with sound technical report -writing abilities
- Knowledge in computer aided technical applications
- The ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings will be an advantage
- Knowledge and experience regarding compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act in workshop and – site environment is essential
Responsibilities
- Render maintenance for mechanical oriented functions such as service, repair, install and maintain construction equipment, water control equipment and related infrastructure as typically found on dams and water distribution networks (pumps, pipes, valves, sluices, auxiliary drives, cranes, water vessels)
- Routine inspections of visible, operational and safety defects, planning repairs and reporting of defects to Supervisor
- Ensure services are carried out timeously and coordinate maintenance and repairs thr ough existing contracts
- Function in strict accordance with applicable legislative and safety
