Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 To 2 (Primary Health Care)

Overview
Assist with the management of the burden of disease in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of the Western Cape. Provide and maintain quality of care to all patients and health services.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
- A post -basic qualification, with a duration of at least a 1-year diploma, in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R 48) OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R149 7) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
- A postgraduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with the South African Nursin g Council as a Professional Nurse
- Experience: Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing
- Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing
- At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post -basic qualification in the specific speciality
- Inherent requirements of the job: Valid (code B/EB) driver’s licence
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): NIMART training or experience
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of nursing and public service legislation
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
- Ability to promote quality patient care through the implementation of protocols, guidelines and standards
Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of the burden of disease in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of the Western Cape
- Provide and maintain quality of care to all patients and health services
- Maintain accurate clinical records, statistics registers, and referral records
- Effective utilisation of Resources/Stock within the limited budget constraints
- Participation in Community events and initiating awareness with regards to health-related issues
- Maintain and participate in inter -professional and multi -disciplinary teamwork but able to work independently
- Supervise and mentor lower categories of staff
- Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self - development
