Overview
Manage and monitor civil engineering processes within government water schemes and water user associations. Manage administrative and related functions.
Requirements
- A National Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Six (6) years' post -qualification technical engineering experience in civil engineering
- Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician
- The disc losure of a valid unexpired driver's license
- Proven experience in project and programme management
- Sound technical design and analytical skills
- Knowledge of computer -aided engineering
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor civil engineering processes within government water schemes and water user associations
- Manage administrative and related functions
- Monitor the implementation of capital - and operationally funded projects through site inspections, site meetings, and the compilation and submission of progress reports
- Conduct condition assessments of infrastructure and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including dam safety regulations
- Draft civil engineering project specifications and facilitate the implementation and contract management of civil engineering projects
- Conduct research and development initiatives to support the effective management and maintenance of water infrastructure
- Provide technical advice and support to ensure the sustainable operation of government water schemes and water user associations
