Industrial Technician Production: Building
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Overview
Compile specifications, drawings and tender documentation within time limits. Liaise with clients with regard to information and work progress.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: B -Tech or National Diploma or equivalent (T- or N- or S- Stream) in the Built Environment (Building, not electrical or mechanical) or an equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience: Appropriate experience in design, specification and maintenance of health infrastructure with a strong emphasis on maintenance, compliance and minor works
- Inherent requirement of the job: Willing to work overtime, stay away and travel throughout the Western Cape Province, often at short noti ce
- Willing to assist in other institutions and directorates
- Willingness to travel within the boarders of the Western Cape
- Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge in the compilation of specifications and tender documentation
- Compilation of Drawings for Tender, Construction purposes as well as submission to Council
- Contracts and quality management skills
- Competent with hands -on practical work, finding practical solutions
- Computer literate (Auto CAD, MS Word and Ex cel)
- Knowledge and experience in IT, design of Built infrastructure in the health care environment
Responsibilities
- Compile specifications, drawings and tender documentation within time limits
- Liaise with clients with regard to information and work progress
- Ensure continuity of service schedules, prioritizing work, and consideration of operational requirements
- Ensure equipment and working areas are compliant with Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Sound Contract and project management
