Overview
Perform all circulations duties in the library. Join and assist in renewal library membership.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- A National Senior Certificate with relevant experience or Diploma/B
- Degree (NQF level 6/7) as recognized by SAQA in Library & Information Science will be an added advantage
- Good command of at least two (2) official languages will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of library systems and relevant government prescripts
- Exposure in the field will be an added advantage
- Computer literacy
- Good verbal and written skills
- A valid (Code 8) driving licence will an added advantage
Responsibilities
- Perform all circulations duties in the library
- Join and assist in renewal library membership
- Shelving of all library reading material
- Attend to reference queries brought by users
- Maintain good public relations with stakeholders
- Accompany librarian in attending meetings when necessarily
- Compile statistics of the library
- Assist in organising and/ or be involved in awareness programmes (Advocacy and Marketing)
- Assist in the formation/establishment of a library structure & book clubs
- Responsible for orientation and children’s programmes
- Assist in the management of library donations, and other programmes in the library including ICT and mini -lib services
