Overview
Assist patients with activities of daily living (physical care). Provide elementary clinical nursing care.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Grade 2: A Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Nursing Assistant with SANC
- Grade 3: A Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Nursing Assistant with SANC
- Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work overtime, shifts, public holidays and weekends
- Willingness to rotate within th e institution
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of nursing processes and procedures as outlined in nursing, health related public service legislation, regulation and policies
- Skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to function within the multi -disciplinary team and facilitate on the level of the advertised position
