Practitioner Transport: Hrm Support Services
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Overview
Ensuring day -to-day management and maintenance of fleet vehicles. Monitor daily kilometers before and after trips and ensure monthly closing of kilometers on the logbooks.
Requirements
- An appropriate bachelor’s degree/ National Diploma in Transport management/Logistics or equivalent qualifications
- A minimum of 1– 2 years’ experience in fleet management environment
- 2 years’ relevant supervisory experience in transport management
- Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge and understanding of pertinent policies related to PFMA, national Treasury Regulations, Government Motor transport Handbook Version 1 of 2019, Version 1 of 2017, Batho Pele Principles and Code of Conduct
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills
- Computer literacy, an ability to work in a team and independent
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Clientele/customer relation skills
- Good interpersonal skills, decision making skills and presentation skills
- A must have a valid drivers’ license
Responsibilities
- Ensuring day -to-day management and maintenance of fleet vehicles
- Monitor daily kilometers before and after trips and ensure monthly closing of kilometers on the logbooks
- Authorize trip itineraries/ trip authorization
- Receive and certify invoices for pro cessing monthly payments
- Maintain records of driver’s licenses and trip authorization
- Ensure service maintenance of vehicles
- Redirect traffic fines
- Pre -and-post inspections of vehicles
- Perform other related tasks as per supervisor’s instructions and w illingness to adapt to work schedule in accordance with office requirements
- Supervise and monitor drivers to ensure compliance with transport policies, road traffic regulations, and organizational procedures
- Provide general administration support services and maintain a proper filing and archive system, Management of staff Leave, PMDS and Workplans, Ensure completion of performance agreements by all empl oyees in the unit
