Overview

Ensuring day -to-day management and maintenance of fleet vehicles. Monitor daily kilometers before and after trips and ensure monthly closing of kilometers on the logbooks.

Requirements

  • An appropriate bachelor’s degree/ National Diploma in Transport management/Logistics or equivalent qualifications
  • A minimum of 1– 2 years’ experience in fleet management environment
  • 2 years’ relevant supervisory experience in transport management
  • Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge and understanding of pertinent policies related to PFMA, national Treasury Regulations, Government Motor transport Handbook Version 1 of 2019, Version 1 of 2017, Batho Pele Principles and Code of Conduct
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Computer literacy, an ability to work in a team and independent
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Clientele/customer relation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, decision making skills and presentation skills
  • A must have a valid drivers’ license

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring day -to-day management and maintenance of fleet vehicles
  • Monitor daily kilometers before and after trips and ensure monthly closing of kilometers on the logbooks
  • Authorize trip itineraries/ trip authorization
  • Receive and certify invoices for pro cessing monthly payments
  • Maintain records of driver’s licenses and trip authorization
  • Ensure service maintenance of vehicles
  • Redirect traffic fines
  • Pre -and-post inspections of vehicles
  • Perform other related tasks as per supervisor’s instructions and w illingness to adapt to work schedule in accordance with office requirements
  • Supervise and monitor drivers to ensure compliance with transport policies, road traffic regulations, and organizational procedures
  • Provide general administration support services and maintain a proper filing and archive system, Management of staff Leave, PMDS and Workplans, Ensure completion of performance agreements by all empl oyees in the unit
