Supply Chain Management Practitioner (Demand) responsible for ensuring compliance with Departmental SCM Policy Framework, conducting market research, managing contracts, and overseeing procurement plans.

Requirements

  • Senior Certificate Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Degree or National diploma in SCM or relevant qualification
  • 1-2 years clerical experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Certificate of Service signed by HR
  • Valid driver’s licence code 8/10
  • Computer literacy (Basic Skills) and Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
  • Eligible handwriting
  • Knowledge of administration procedures (added advantage)

Responsibilities

  • Provide need assessment for goods and services
  • Determine clear specifications for quality of goods and services
  • Ensure requirements are linked to budget and analyze supplying industry
  • Conduct market research
  • Manage contract management function
  • Ensure compliance by service providers
  • Manage early warning arrangements for supplier defaults
  • Liaise with provincial treasury on non-performing suppliers
  • Manage a central database of contracts
  • Report on compliance issues and value for money
  • Manage procurement plan and its implementation
