Overview
Supply Chain Management Practitioner (Demand) responsible for ensuring compliance with Departmental SCM Policy Framework, conducting market research, managing contracts, and overseeing procurement plans.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate Grade 12 or equivalent
- Degree or National diploma in SCM or relevant qualification
- 1-2 years clerical experience in Supply Chain Management
- Certificate of Service signed by HR
- Valid driver’s licence code 8/10
- Computer literacy (Basic Skills) and Excel knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
- Eligible handwriting
- Knowledge of administration procedures (added advantage)
Responsibilities
- Provide need assessment for goods and services
- Determine clear specifications for quality of goods and services
- Ensure requirements are linked to budget and analyze supplying industry
- Conduct market research
- Manage contract management function
- Ensure compliance by service providers
- Manage early warning arrangements for supplier defaults
- Liaise with provincial treasury on non-performing suppliers
- Manage a central database of contracts
- Report on compliance issues and value for money
- Manage procurement plan and its implementation
