Overview

The purpose of this Internship is to equip learners to understand the underlying principles of all of the major areas related to the pharmaceutical environment and promoting the notion of quality lifelong learning. The provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patients' medicine related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs. To provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • BPharm - 4 year
  • Computer literate – MS Office

Responsibilities

  • Provide or perform all services pertaining to the scope of practice of a pharmacist's assistant under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of medicines according to approved formulas and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Re-package medicine and control stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 6 medicines.
  • Read and prepare prescriptions, select and label medicines, and provide instructions regarding their use.
  • Advise and assist patients at the dispensary and process claims to medical aids.
  • Maintain customer profiles and report on stock levels.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
