Trainee: Finance & Insurance (12-month fixed term contract)
Overview
The Trainee: Finance & Insurance will support the F&I team in managing finance and insurance processes relating to vehicle sales while gaining practical knowledge and experience of the F&I environment. The role will provide structured workplace learning and exposure to finance and insurance products, customer service, regulatory requirements, dealership processes and relationships with finance houses and insurance providers.
Requirements
- South African citizen
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting or a related field
- Valid South African driver's licence
- Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and submission of finance applications
- Learn and develop an understanding of vehicle finance structures and finance house requirements
- Gain exposure to finance and insurance products and value-added products (VAPs)
- Develop an understanding of how F&I products contribute to dealership profitability
- Assist with providing customers with a professional and welcoming F&I experience
- Develop strong customer service and relationship-management skills
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with customer information
- Develop an understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to F&I within the automotive retail industry
- Assist with maintaining accurate and complete customer and deal documentation
- Assist with preparing finance and insurance documentation accurately and timeously
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems
- Perform general administrative duties relating to the F&I function
- Develop positive working relationships with customers, sales executives, sales managers, dealer principal, finance and insurance providers, finance houses and banks, and other dealership support functions
