Overview
The Training Officer will provide specialized and strategic leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and governance of Reactor Operations training programs, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and alignment with organizational objectives to maintain operational competence.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Electronics)
- Minimum 3–5 years in training, facilitation, or skills development
- Minimum 5–8 years’ post-qualification experience, including significant experience in reactor operations or technical environment
- Experience in nuclear or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop, review and update training programmes aligned to operational and regulatory requirements (NNR, NAMB, SHEQ)
- Design training material, lesson plans, and assessment tools in line with approved curriculum
- Ensure alignment between theoretical, practical and workplace-based training
- Continuously improve training methodologies based on feedback, audits and operational changes
- Integrate new technologies, plant modifications and regulatory updates into training content
- Facilitate specialised technical training programmes for Reactor Operations personnel
- Prepare training equipment, simulators and materials prior to training interventions
- Ensure achievement of defined learning outcomes and competencies
