Overview
The YES Graduate HR Intern position offers recent HR graduates an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment at Checkers Gauteng North. This internship will allow you to contribute meaningfully to the HR function of one of South Africa's leading retail organizations.
Requirements
- Recently completed HR qualification or degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Professional, reliable, and trustworthy approach
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn in a retail environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take on new challenges
- Genuine interest in human resources and people management
- South African citizen
- Valid driver's license (preferred)
- Willing to travel within the Gauteng North region when required
Responsibilities
- Assist with the onboarding and induction of new employees across multiple store locations
- Maintain and update HR documentation, employee records, and personnel files
- Support payroll, benefits, and leave administration processes
- Assist in coordinating employee training and development programmes
- Help implement HR policies and ensure employee compliance
- Support employee relations activities and address routine HR queries
- Contribute to HR projects and special initiatives as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
- Assist with HR reporting and data analysis
- Support the recruitment and selection process, including job advertising, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews
