Overview
The Competition Commission South Africa is seeking two highly motivated legal professionals to join its Cartels Division as Investigators. The role involves investigating and prosecuting prohibited cartel conduct and illegal agreements between competitors, contributing to fair competition in South Africa's economy. Successful candidates will conduct rigorous investigations and prosecutions, manage the Corporate Leniency Policy, and collaborate within a team to advance the objectives of the Division.
Requirements
- A completed LLB Degree or equivalent qualification minimum
- A minimum of 4 - 6 years working experience in complex investigations and prosecutions
- Experience in investigating and prosecuting competition law cases will be an added advantage
- Ability to undertake complex investigations and prosecutions independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- Working experience in information collection and analysis, both on a tactical and strategic level
Responsibilities
- Investigate and prosecute contraventions of section 4(1)(b) of the Competition Act
- Administer the Commission's Corporate Leniency Policy
- Write, review and present investigation reports
- Write, review and present pleadings
- Assist with leading and managing of investigations and prosecutions
- Assist in the effective management and administration of the Division
