The Security Officer – People & Process Monitoring will be responsible to provide a Security Operation function, which will ensure the implementation of and adherence to security policies, procedures, objectives and client needs through surveillance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric or a relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 4 (National Certificate) in Security Management or recognized equivalent.
  • PSIRA registration – Grade C or eligible for such registration.
  • Role-specific knowledge and experience:
  • Relevant surveillance experience in CCTV monitoring environment.
  • Knowledge of application of operational, focused and specialised surveillance techniques and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform targeted surveillance activities aimed at detecting physical process anomalies as well as suspicious individual behavior.
  • To identify vulnerabilities, use CCTV cameras to remotely monitor and evaluate the diamond process and operating practices.
  • Using CCTV cameras, monitor operating practices for safe practices in accordance with SHE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure thorough, accurate reporting and consistent interpretation of observations.
  • Inform the local data analyst of any suspicious activities that require additional review and/or expert analysis.
  • Provide suggestions for effective Surveillance Management System configuration in accordance with site-specific risk assessments and approved change control protocols.
  • Conduct regular system integrity checks to ensure that all equipment is in good working order, is properly configured, and performs in accordance with functional specifications.
  • Assist in the training of staff at all levels in the proper and systematic use of security systems.
  • When required to record, export, and store CCTV footage for evidentiary purposes, ensure compliance with evidence management procedures.
