Overview
The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide support to all stakeholders through the coordination, monitoring and support of disaster management functions in order to coordinate disaster recovery.
Requirements
- An appropriate 3 year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the disaster management or relevant field
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the disaster assessment and verification processes
- Coordinate declaration processes
- Conduct the disaster debriefings / post event analysis studies per declared disaster
- Facilitate and coordinate the disaster relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction
- Facilitate funding expenditure processes and procedures
- Responsible for report writing
- Perform disaster response team member function while on standby and during disaster activation
- Assist with the management of human resources, performance management, financial management, leadership & strategic management in the Sub-directorate
