As a Cashier at Buco, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding service at the point of sale, maximizing sales opportunities, and ensuring the security of all transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Efficiently and accurately process sales transactions at the point of sale.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that it is well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Safeguard all receipts and the contents of the till, following strict security protocols at all times.
- Minimize the risk to the business by adhering to cash handling procedures and identifying potential fraudulent activities.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, striving to resolve them in a positive and efficient manner.
- Upsell and cross-sell relevant products or promotions to customers, maximizing sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the checkout process.
- Stay updated on product knowledge and promotions to provide accurate information to customers.
- Uphold the company’s standards for exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Integrity and trustworthiness in handling cash transactions and sensitive customer information.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
