Buco, a leading hardware retail company, is seeking 18 reliable and customer-oriented Drivers to join our team. As a Buco Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our valued customers. You will be responsible for maintaining the condition of the vehicle, supervising loading operations, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safely and efficiently deliver goods to customers while adhering to the designated delivery routes.
  2. Ensure that the vehicle is neatly packed and organized to prevent damages and breakages during transportation.
  3. Supervise and assist with the loading of goods onto the vehicle, ensuring that they are properly secured.
  4. Conduct daily inspection checks of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
  5. Maintain the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition, both internally and externally.
  6. Supply the correct quantities and supplies as per the delivery notes and customer requirements.
  7. Implement measures to reduce costs associated with vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption.
  8. Obtain proper authorization for delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  9. Collect cash-on-delivery (COD) payments from customers and handle them securely.
  10. Provide excellent customer service, including courteous and professional interactions with customers during deliveries.
  11. Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture by demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s license for heavy vehicles or Code 8 driver’s license for light vehicles (<3500 kg).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience, preferably in a delivery or logistics role.
  • Good knowledge of local traffic regulations and routes.
  • Ability to handle goods carefully and prevent damages during transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate quantities and supplies.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to perform routine inspection checks.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle loading and unloading activities.
  • Integrity and responsibility in handling cash transactions.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
