Buco is a leading hardware retail company that is committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a secure environment for our employees and customers. They are currently seeking diligent and detail-oriented Security Checkers to join their team. As a Security Checker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of their premises, merchandise, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough checks on all goods leaving the premises, including the shop and yard areas.
- Verify and cross-reference all sales and returns with supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure that credit customers sign proof of delivery notes (POD’s) as evidence of receipt.
- Verify that cash customers have made payment for the goods before they leave the premises.
- Immediately report any suspicious behavior or activities to the management team.
- Arrive promptly at your designated post and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform comprehensive vehicle checks to inspect the contents of incoming vehicles before they enter the company premises.
- Effectively manage the movement of the boom gate to control access to the premises.
- Complete the visitors’ book daily and accurately, documenting all individuals entering and exiting the premises.
- Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture at all times.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience in a hardware-related environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to report information clearly and accurately.
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
