Job Summary:

Cape Union Mart, a leading outdoor retailer in South Africa, is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Sales Assistant to join their team at one of our retail stores. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, promoting products, and contributing to the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information and answering any questions they may have.
• Actively promote products to customers and upsell where possible, to achieve sales targets and contribute to the success of the store.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system, ensuring all items are scanned and priced correctly.
• Assist with visual merchandising and ensuring the store is neat and tidy at all times.
• Receive and process deliveries, unpacking stock and ensuring items are correctly labeled and priced.
• Participate in stock counts and assist with stock management duties as required.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Previous experience in a retail sales environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers effectively.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to the success of the store.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
