Job Description:
Are you a friendly and organized individual with excellent attention to detail? Dis-Chem is looking for a dedicated Cashier to join their team and contribute to the smooth operation of our store. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing efficient and accurate checkout services to our customers, ensuring their shopping experience is enjoyable and hassle-free.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently through the POS system.
- Handle cash transactions, debit/credit card payments, and other electronic forms of payment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues.
- Maintain a neat and organized checkout area, ensuring items are correctly scanned and priced.
- Collaborate with the team to uphold store cleanliness and organization.
- Assist with customer loyalty programs and promotions.
- Uphold security measures to prevent theft and fraudulent activities.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience cashier/till operations experience
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of the English language
- Basic customer service
- Willing and able to work retail hours
