Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to customers at the checkout counter.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process cash, credit card, and electronic payments.
- Transaction Verification: Verify the accuracy of prices and quantities for each transaction.
- Receipt Issuance: Issue receipts to customers and provide assistance with returns, exchanges, and refunds.
- Cash Register Operation: Operate cash registers and handle cash drawer reconciliation.
- Customer Inquiries: Respond to customer inquiries, provide product information, and assist with locating items in the store.
- Security: Adhere to security and loss prevention measures to safeguard company assets.
- Store Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other store team members to ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Must be proficient in English
- Must be able to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
- Must be helpful and polite
- Building Material Product knowledge will be an advantage
- 2 – 3 years cashier experience will be an advantage
- Basic computer skills
