Overview
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join its civil infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with proven experience in the design and delivery of roads, stormwater, bulk earthworks, water and sewer infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a professionally registered Civil Engineer / Technologist with strong design-office experience and a proven track record in civil infrastructure.
Requirements
- BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years' relevant experience
- Professional registration as Pr. Eng. / Pr. Tech.
- Proven advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong working knowledge of IDAS
- Valid driver's licence and own transport
Responsibilities
- Lead the geometric and detailed design of roads
- Design stormwater management and drainage systems
- Undertake bulk earthworks design, balancing, and optimisation
- Design gravity and pressurised pipelines for water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
- Undertake hydraulic analysis and profile design for pipeline systems
- Utilise AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop surfaces, corridors, assemblies, pipe networks, drawings, and quantities
- Prepare detailed engineering design reports and contract documentation
- Coordinate designs with structural, geotechnical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
- Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior engineers
- Attend site visits, design meetings, and client presentations as required
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable South African standards and local authority requirements
