Cloud Infrastructure Lead
Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Cloud Infrastructure Lead, must be highly skilled and have the ability to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that support our large-scale retail operations. Will need to architect resilient and scalable cloud environments, automate deployments, enhance performance, and ensure secure and efficient cloud operations across our enterprise. Will play a key leadership role within the Cloud Engineering team, collaborating with cross-functional technology, security, and product groups to deliver high-performing services to customers, stores, and distribution centers.
Requirements
- Cloud certifications such as: Azure Solutions Architect / Azure DevOps Expert, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
- 6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure
- Expert-level knowledge of one or more major cloud
- Experience with CI/CD
- Solid understanding of containerization
- Strong knowledge of networking, load balancing, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud-native networking
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging
- Experience working in large enterprise environments (retail experience advantageous)
- South African citizen
- MIE, clear criminal and credit
- Driver’s license and/or own reliable transport
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure for enterprise retail operations
- Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and infrastructure
- Ensure cloud environments support high-volume retail workloads and seasonal peak performance
- Apply cloud security best practices, monitoring, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection
- Lead troubleshooting and incident response for critical cloud-related issues
- Optimize cost, performance, and reliability across cloud
- Collaborate with other Business units to deliver effective cloud strategies and deployments
- Work closely with DevOps, Network, Security, Data, and Application teams to support end-to-end solutions
