Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent National Certificate qualification.
- Previous experience in retail or FMCG sector preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHASA) policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage effectively with team members and customers.
- Proven ability to plan, organise, and prioritise operational tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to coach and manage operational teams, including security and cleaning staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and customer-friendly environment.
- Capability to adapt to flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Competent in following instructions, procedures and making decisive actions under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with external contractors and manage operational compliance requirements consistently.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly environment.
- Support stock management by overseeing receipt, dispatch, and transfer of goods according to company policies.
- Maintain product displays and sales floor readiness by ensuring removal of unused equipment and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct regular checks and test runs of security alarms, generators, and fire systems; ensure compliance documentation is completed timely.
- Coordinate with external contractors such as refrigeration engineers to maintain service levels and operational effectiveness.
- Lead and develop operational teams including security, cleaning, and trolley staff to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
- Monitor and manage store keys, ensuring proper control and availability for emergency situations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHASA) policies and maintain a hygienic work environment.
- Analyze alarm reports and identify operational risks and areas requiring prompt action or improvement.
- Complete and review maintenance checklists and scorecards regularly to ensure consistent operational standards.
