Job Description:
Lactalis SA, is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver with a Code 14 license to join their Tankers department. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading milk at farms and plants. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience as a tanker driver within the FMCG environment, possess a valid PrDP, and demonstrate a sound knowledge of food quality and strict adherence to Safety & Health policies, procedures, and legislation. Fluency in English is essential.
Required Skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid PrDP and Code 14 Drivers license
- At least 2 years of experience within the FMCG environment
- At least 2 years of experience as a tanker driver
- Willingness to do long-distance routes
- Ability to work shifts, long hours, weekends, public holidays, and overtime
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Medical fitness in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Diligence and accuracy in daily functions

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sampling, measuring, and evaluating milk
- Post and pre-trip inspection of vehicles
- Loading milk at farms and plants, including the collection of samples, equipment, receipts, load sheets, instructions, and relevant documentation
- Management and housekeeping of the vehicle and equipment
- Participation in all Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Off-hook and hook of trailers
- Evaluate milk for foreign objects daily for each tank
- Complete alliserol tests on the farm daily for each tank
- Take temperature readings at every tank daily
- Complete documentation
- Couple and uncouple hoses and pump milk, ensuring proper coupling and avoiding overfilling the tanker
- Stir the milk properly and take samples daily for each tank
- Drive carefully and professionally
- Report any deviations to the supervisor
- Work according to and promote Food safety, Continuous Improvement, and NOSA standards
- Adhere to the official road traffic regulation act
