Position Overview:
As a General Assistant at Dunns, your primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring optimum turnover results and merchandise presentation. You will play a vital role in assisting with the daily operations of the store and maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service to all customers. Assist customers with inquiries, product information, and locating merchandise. Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Merchandise Presentation: Participate in merchandise display and presentation activities to create an attractive and organized store environment. Ensure that shelves, racks, and displays are well-stocked, neat, and visually appealing at all times.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed turnover targets. Actively engage with customers to promote products and drive sales.
- Store Operations Assistance: Support store management with daily operational tasks, including stock management, receiving deliveries, and inventory control. Assist with maintaining store cleanliness and tidiness.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately and securely. Follow cash handling procedures and maintain a balanced till.
- Compliance and Security: Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring the security of the store, merchandise, and cash. Report any incidents or potential security risks to management.
- Teamwork: Work cooperatively with colleagues and foster a positive team spirit. Support fellow team members to achieve collective goals.
- Training and Development: Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and store operations proficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Matric- Grade 12
- Proven experience in a customer service-oriented role is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs.
- Basic numerical skills for cash handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift objects as required.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
