The Hostess will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, individually managing patient wards by serving meals including breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks. The role requires ensuring accurate meal trays, maintaining hygiene standards, and effectively communicating dietary needs.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- Previous experience in a hospital environment would be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Serve patients with tea/coffee and alternative snacks
- Fill in menu cards correctly with patient choices
- Return menu cards to the kitchen promptly
- Update diet list before meals
- Alert kitchen immediately about diet alterations
- Transport trolleys from kitchen to wards and return them after serving
- Ensure meals on trays are complete before serving
- Remove trays immediately after patients have eaten
- Wash cutlery after every meal and maintain strict controls
- Keep the ward kitchen neat and tidy
