Overview
A South African property development, investment, and management company specializing in student housing, inner-city accommodation, and commercial and industrial real estate is seeking an Intermediate-to-Senior Full Stack Developer (Laravel & React) to design, build, and maintain features for the clients Nexus web platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on PHP and Laravel.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Laravel, React (or Angular), MySQL, RESTful APIs, and Git.
- Basic understanding of Linux-based web servers and deployment platforms (e.g., Laravel Forge, RunCloud).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, root-cause analysis, cross-functional communication, and self-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable web applications and RESTful APIs using PHP, Laravel, and React.
- Conduct high-level architecture reviews, code reviews, and unit testing.
- Lead sprint execution, standups, and release readiness.
- Translate commercial and product requirements into clear technical delivery plans.
- Own end-to-end bug triage, root-cause diagnosis, and release quality.
- Guide developers and QA to resolve technical blockers and align delivery with commercial commitments.
