IT Site Engineer
Overview
To take responsibility for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting the company's computer systems and designing and installing LANs, WANs, internet and intranet systems, and network segments.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate in MCSE
- Degree Information Science advantageous
- 2 years' experience in a similar environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
- Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments and internet and intranet systems
- Install and maintain network hardware and software
- Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
- Maintain network facilities in individual machines
- Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways and intrusion detection systems
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization
- Assume the role of liaison between IT and non-IT CHG employees
- Ensure product and service knowledge and advice is technically accurate
- Ensure timeous resolution of stakeholder queries and complaints
- Work within the developed performance management framework
- Comply with cost controls in order to achieve section budget
- Ensure all relevant system documentation on network security is maintained
- Ensure complete, timeous and accurate reporting with appropriate levels of escalation
