Overview
The Materials Planner role involves managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and determining optimal order quantities based on demand forecasts and inventory levels. The planner will also maintain and update system records, manage supplier transactions, and work closely with various teams to guarantee smooth supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters and data accuracy
- Generate and review planned orders, purchase requisitions, and production orders
- Align material supply with the production schedule and demand forecasts
- Monitor and adjust planning inputs (lead times, safety stock, MOQ, etc.)
- Identify and mitigate supply risks and shortages proactively
- Ensure materials are available on time and in full to meet production requirements
- Track and manage supplier delivery performance against OTIF targets
- Expedite critical materials to avoid supply disruptions
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing availability with working capital targets
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, excess, or obsolescence
- Ensure accurate inventory records within ERP systems
- Support cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and inventory audits
- Maintain batch traceability and compliance with GMP requirements
