Job Advert Summary:
Unitrans is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Driver for Ultra Heavy Vehicles to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass not exceeding 56,000 kg. If you are a qualified and safety-conscious driver with up to 3 years of experience, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4, Grade 10 / NQF level 2
- Code EC PrDP – “D” if required to operate a DG vehicle
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles for a trip, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
- Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
- Handle documentation processes from dispatch to the customer and back to the distribution center.
- Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle when leaving the Depot.
- Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Account for all goods being transported to the customer.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Respond to any reasonable instructions from the Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe driving record and possess a clean criminal record.
