Job Advert Summary:

Unitrans is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Driver for Ultra Heavy Vehicles to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass not exceeding 56,000 kg. If you are a qualified and safety-conscious driver with up to 3 years of experience, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4, Grade 10 / NQF level 2
  • Code EC PrDP – “D” if required to operate a DG vehicle
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vehicles for a trip, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
  • Handle documentation processes from dispatch to the customer and back to the distribution center.
  • Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle when leaving the Depot.
  • Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Account for all goods being transported to the customer.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to any reasonable instructions from the Supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and possess a clean criminal record.
