Overview
Perform specified duties under the direct personal supervision of a Pharmacist in the dispensary. To provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Mathematics (HG)
- Life Science and/or Physical Science with at least an average of 50%
- Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification
- Computer and numerical skills
Responsibilities
- Sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines
- Assist with compounding, manipulation or preparation of medicines
- Re-packaging of medicine
- Distribution and control of stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines
- Reading and preparation of prescriptions
- Providing instructions regarding the correct use of medicine
- Capturing and verifying patient details
- Ensuring accurate picking, packing and labelling of medication
- Advising and assisting patients at the dispensary and self-medication counter
- Processing paperwork for medical aid claims
- Maintaining customer profiles
- Reporting on stock levels and errors
- Assisting with scheduled stock takes
- Adhering to company policies and procedures
- Maintaining health and safety standards
