Product Manager
Overview
We are looking for a commercially driven Product Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of cleaning chemicals, equipment and paper products. The successful candidate will be responsible for product sourcing, supplier management, pricing, product launches, sales support and overall portfolio profitability.
Requirements
- Grade 12; relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or a related field advantageous.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar Product Management or Category Management role.
- Experience specifically within cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment and/or paper products.
- Strong sales and relationship management experience.
- Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Knowledge of product verification, certification and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with product launches, market positioning and go-to-market strategies.
- Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margins, profitability and ROI.
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the product portfolio to maximise sales and profitability.
- Source new products and manage supplier relationships and negotiations.
- Develop pricing strategies and maintain appropriate margins.
- Identify market opportunities, threats and trends.
- Drive successful product launches and go-to-market initiatives.
- Build relationships with key customers and support the sales team.
- Provide product training to sales teams and customers.
- Conduct product profitability and ROI analysis.
- Work closely with Supply Chain to resolve product availability and logistics issues.
- Support marketing campaigns, promotions and industry events.
- Monitor product performance and recommend product additions or rationalisation.
