Production Controller

Overview

Review the planning of all inspections carried out in the Heavy Maintenance hangars; Estimate the maintenance downtime for Heavy Maintenance checks; Control the costing of all checks; Ensure that work packs are correct; Verify the accuracy of man-hours in work packs (both estimated and actual) and determine the necessary manpower; Optimise labour resources to consistently achieve a productivity rate of 75%; Ensure that scheduled spares and tools for checks are correct and available on time; Ensure the continuous availability of critical spares for C-checks in conjunction with Material Planners; Provide detailed daily updates and charts on the progress of checks; Monitor critical paths and plan accordingly; Conduct Survey and postmortem meetings to continuously improve check processes; Recommend AMS adjustments when working with Engineering and Planning; Coordinate the availability of major modules with Production and Logistics.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential)
  • Aircraft trade (Advantageous)
  • Must have 5 years' experience in aircraft production planning or maintenance environment (Essential)
  • Must be willing to travel at short notice and extended period (Essential)
  • Must be able to work shifts (Essential)
  • Strong knowledge of SAM system
  • Thorough understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards
  • Thorough understanding of B737-800 Dimensions and areas
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Good planning and organising skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Immaculate time keeping
  • Financial acumen
