Research Assistant II
Overview
The Research Assistant II plays a crucial role in supporting the Study Manager by assisting in participant recruitment and research study-related tasks. This position involves participating in designing, administering, and monitoring implementation research studies while ensuring the accurate and ethical collection of data from volunteers in compliance with study protocols and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or similar
- Valid GCP certificate
- Honours Degree (advantageous)
- HIV/TB training (advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Public Sector experience in HIV counselling and testing, prevention, care and treatment
- Experience in HIV/TB prevention and treatment
- Experience in community education
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Research and GCP experience (advantageous)
- Knowledge of participant recruitment and retention strategies
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Computer and programming skills
- Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle
- Current and relevant references for background checks
Responsibilities
- Assist the Study Manager in recruiting participants
- Provide support in research study-related tasks
- Design, administer and monitor implementation research studies
- Efficiently collect accurate, complete and ethical data from study volunteers
- Adhere to study protocol and overall objectives
- Report writing
- Make strategy recommendations based on process evaluation findings
- Recruitment, counselling and retention of volunteers
