Sales Representative
Overview
We are seeking a Sales Representative specialising in the hospitality and catering sectors, focusing on hotels, restaurants, cafes, catering companies, lodges, and guesthouses within the Cape Town CBD, Atlantic Seaboard, and Hermanus areas. This role demands expertise in consultative selling, relationship management, and territory development to drive revenue growth for Redstar Wholesale Catering Services.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management
- 3 to 5 years of proven B2B sales experience within the foodservice, hospitality, or catering sectors
- Demonstrated track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets consistently
- Valid driving licence with a willingness and ability to travel within the designated territory
- Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and catering product distribution is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a dynamic sales environment
- Proficient in using sales software and Microsoft Office applications
- Customer-focused approach with strategic problem-solving capabilities
Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new business accounts within the hospitality and catering sectors
- Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships
- Promote new products, bulk deals, and special promotions
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales and gross margin targets
- Engage regularly with clients through call cycles
- Build and sustain strong relationships with chefs, procurement managers, and business owners
- Provide market insights, product recommendations, and menu solutions
- Quickly resolve customer complaints
- Monitor and analyse sales performance, preparing detailed reports
- Stay informed on industry trends and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams
