Job Description:
Sasol is looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to assist production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to strict quality standard procedures/codes, and utilizing all available support resources to increase and maintain stability of the plant’s and/or equipment’s long-term viability.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/ N3 with Maths, Science and English
- NQF level 4 Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification (eg QCTO certificate)
- At least two years of maintenance mechanical experience as a qualified Fitter is required.
- Reading and comprehending the work management process
- Mechanical equipment experience includes pumps, compressors, drives, mechanical seals, gearboxes, heat exchangers, cooling towers, vessels, and piping.
- Working experience with wax and hydrogen will be advantageous.
- Training completed by Permit to Work recipients will be advantageous.
- A basic rigging and slinging license will be beneficial.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on the plant.
- Organizing one’s own tasks
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment in accordance with safety regulations, instructions, and quality procedures.
- Perform mechanical equipment fault finding.
- Begin proactive maintenance measures.
- Must be able to work on standby.
- Willing to work extra hours
