Job Description:

Sasol, a leading integrated energy and chemicals company in South Africa, is seeking a skilled and experienced Process Artisan to join their team at their Sasolburg site in the Free State. A Process Artisan is responsible for operating process equipment, systems, and processes for a specific plant or unit within the Sasol environment in order to meet production targets in a safe manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Maths & Science and Occupational Trade Certificate (NQF4)
  • 0 – 5 years experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attends shift handover meetings.
  • Provides adequate feedback on work progress to supervisor
  • Participates in root cause analysis and provides feedback to root cause analysis teams
  • Participates in risk assessments to improve safety in accordance with legislation and company requirements.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping and waste disposal procedures
  • Applying and maintaining workplace safety
  • Participates in root cause analysis and provides feedback to root cause analysis teams
  • Maintains proper housekeeping and waste disposal procedures
  • Understand and know the business, its drivers, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Contribute to the creation of training modules.
  • Identifies personal training and development needs and incorporates them into the PDP with the approval of the group leader
  • Set a good example (walk the walk).
  • Learners should be coached on the job.
  • Presentation by an expert on specific plant equipment
  • IMS inspections are performed in order to maintain and improve plant sustainability.
  • Teamwork is essential.
  • Play an appropriate lead role in emergency situations to get the plant back up and running.
  • Provide and receive feedback to other disciplines (daily issue partners)
  • Relationship management with stakeholders
  • Participates in “toolbox talks” to improve plant safety.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in your own work area.
  • Improve your practices and/or your equipment.
