The Department of Transport in South Africa is seeking a skilled and motivated Secretaries to join their team. As a Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the department’s operations and facilitating effective communication.

Responsibilities:

As a Secretary at the Department of Transport, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to senior officials and managers, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and making travel arrangements.
  • Drafting, typing, and proofreading documents, reports, and correspondence as required.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing communication, including emails, letters, and phone calls, in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records, files, and databases.
  • Coordinating and preparing materials for meetings, workshops, and presentations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes for departmental meetings.
  • Managing office supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability and functionality.
  • Welcoming and assisting visitors to the department in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and information sharing.
  • Upholding confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • A National Senior Certificate.
  • No experience, however, exposure in the environment will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge:
  • Excellent language skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different backgrounds.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
