Senior Clerk
Overview
The Senior Clerk will be part of the Call Centre Department, responsible for delivering excellent customer service while handling various policy enquiries and administration tasks. The role involves processing policy servicing requests, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and providing clients with relevant policy information. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills to effectively support clients and contribute to the overall efficiency of the Call Centre team.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 140 long term FAIS credits
- 3 years’ experience in the Life Insurance Industry
- RE5 (advantageous)
- Experience in a client service policy maintenance environment
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Analytical and leadership skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Client orientated
Responsibilities
- Receive and handle telephone policy enquiries in Call Centre department
- Address outstanding requirements on new applications in New Business
- Provide enquiry numbers on claims to branches
- Follow up on outstanding requirements in terms of unpaid claims
- Refer leads to the Direct Marketing Department
- Provide feedback on outstanding accounts and refunds in debtors
- Follow up on non-payments of premiums, defaults payments and incorrect deductions
- Process policy servicing requests, including adding or removing insured lives
- Provide policy information, policy values, and policy documentation to clients or authorised brokers
- Record and maintain accurate client consent and policy records
- Handle policy administration enquiries and transactions
- Ensure all legal and compliance documentation are processed appropriately
- Deliver professional client support by resolving policy-related enquiries
