The Trackless TLB Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the TLB as well as providing assistance as directed in roadway maintenance, such as face preparation and general roadway cleaning.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matriculated or Equivalent
- TLB Certificate
- Dover B result
- Drivers licence
- At least 2 years’ experience in a mining environment
- Secure full Gold Fields Security and Related Occupational Screening
- Be medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre, and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, as well as any other tests required to determine the applicant’s suitability for employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains standards and procedures for safety, health, and the environment.
- Perform a pre-use inspection on this equipment using a checklist and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
- Performs basic equipment maintenance, such as topping up engine oil, water, and hydraulic oil, checking for oil leaks, and cleaning equipment in accordance with standards and procedures.
- Performs end-of-shift procedures in accordance with standards and procedures, such as cleaning equipment and reporting to the supervisor.
- carries out any other activities required for the effective completion of his/her work
- Cleans fly dirt from roadways and ensures that the roadway is level and free of potholes.
