Systems Analyst

Overview

The Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This role involves defining functional requirements for future enhancements, providing analytical support to the business, and acting as a key liaison between Distribution Centre Operators and the organization. The Systems Analyst will extract and analyze WMS data, manage system configurations, and work with software providers to translate warehouse needs into technical specifications while leveraging AI capabilities to enhance operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or similar
  • Above average computer literacy: Excel, Google tools, Gemini
  • Experience of Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder or Oracle)
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes in inventory management and key stock statuses through the Supply Chain process
  • Understanding of SQL and Python queries to troubleshoot data discrepancies, run custom reports and analyze system performance
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Python coding language to understand system development requirements
  • Knowledge of how the WMS integrates with other systems such as ERP or WCS via EDI, API, or Flat Files
  • Familiarity with warehouse peripherals equipment like RF scanners, label printers, and automated conveyor interfaces
  • Beneficial to have Jira experience to manage support calls and projects

Responsibilities

  • Act as the bridge between the Distribution Centre Operators and the business
  • Extract and analyze WMS data to provide insights into inventory accuracy and operational tasks
  • Manage system configuration and enhancement requirements to match changing Distribution Centre processes
  • Provide support to warehouse users to resolve hardware and software issues
  • Test new features to ensure they work in a complex warehouse environment
  • Identify current WMS shortcomings and document functional requirements for upgrades
  • Work with software providers to translate warehouse requirements into technical specifications
  • Analyze physical warehouse movements to suggest automated solutions that improve efficiency
  • Present technical insights to business leaders for informed decision-making
  • Support the project team with guidance on new or enhanced processes by understanding system capabilities
  • Ensure the correct level of urgency for support tickets and projects
  • Leverage AI capabilities to improve and enhance daily operations and reporting
