Boxer Superstores is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Trade Assistant – Butchery (Frozen) to join their Commercial team. This role involves providing administrative and commercial support to the National Buyer – Frozen, ensuring efficient management of the frozen butchery category while working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders. It offers a valuable opportunity to gain exposure to retail buying and category management within one of South Africa's leading retailers.
Requirements
- Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Commerce or a related qualification
- 3–4 years' experience in a buying, procurement or commercial support environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Responsibilities
- Assist the National Buyer with the day-to-day management of the Frozen Butchery category
- Prepare and maintain weekly pricing schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Coordinate new supplier listings and ensure all required compliance documentation is obtained
- Assist with the preparation, updating and administration of supplier trade agreements
