Overview
The driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement is a completed MATRIC
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Code 14 Driver’s license and own transport is a must
- Clean driving record
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Safety conscious
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods
- Pack and load products onto trucks according to company’s specifications
- Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes
- Collect recon pumps from customers on assigned routes
- Maintain ongoing communication with logistics foreman
- Unload goods as per client specifications
- Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs
- Obtain Proof of delivery from each customer
- Collect orders from local suppliers
- Deliver raw materials to local suppliers
- Report all undelivered/uncollected items to logistics foreman
- Report on required maintenance on delivery vehicles
- Ensure required maintenance schedule is adhered to
- Ability to work overtime
- Ensure housekeeping is conducted after every shift
- Communicate any shortfall or challenges that might occur to management timeously
- Ensure all required licenses, permits, medicals and induction programs are up to date and on his/her person at all times
- Any other reasonable request by management
