Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 – 2 years of working experience in a similar role.
- Must have a valid Code 14 driver’s license and a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- Relevant qualifications and experience, knowledge, and skills in operating heavy vehicles.
- A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to truck driving.
- Ability to operate and maintain vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport waste materials and goods to specified destinations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe and responsible driving.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking for mechanical issues and ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload waste materials and goods, ensuring proper securing and handling of cargo.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries and log hours of service, complying with company policies and legal requirements.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical failures promptly to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as required by the company.
