Job Summary:

Afrimat, a leading supplier of construction materials and industrial minerals in South Africa, is offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring engineers to join their team as Interns at Cape Lime’s Langvlei Operations. This internship program is designed to provide practical experience and exposure to the field of Process, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in process optimization, equipment performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of improvement projects to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Conduct data analysis and report findings to support decision-making and process improvements.
  • Assist with process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
  • Support the maintenance and reliability activities, including equipment inspections and maintenance planning.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Process, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong academic record and a passion for engineering.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and engineering software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Previous internship experience or involvement in engineering projects is advantageous.
