Programme Description:
Are you a recent pharmacy graduate with a passion for healthcare? The Pharmacy Internship Programme at Gauteng Department of Health offers you the opportunity to gain practical experience in a variety of pharmacy settings. This programme aims to develop your skills, expand your knowledge, and prepare you for a successful career in pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of pharmacy practice, including but not limited to:
- Dispensing medication accurately and safely under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Assisting with medication management, counseling patients on proper medication use.
- Contributing to pharmaceutical stock management and inventory control.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participating in health promotion and education initiatives.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this programme, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be a recent pharmacy graduate or in your final year of study.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development.
