Overview
Assist patients with activities of daily living (physical care). To provide elementary clinical nursing care.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic qualification (that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Experience: Grade 1: None
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20’ years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after hours, night duty and weekends when required
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Willingness to rotate to other wards when required
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge and insight into protocols and policies pertaining to nursing practices in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of Infection Pr evention Control standards
