Overview
Professional Nurse General - Various Disciplines. Provide directions and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan, implement standards for quality nursing, and maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 10) plus Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
- Current registration with the SANC (2026).
- Grade 1: None experience required.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks.
- Good communication skills; report writing skills; planning & organizing; computer literacy.
Responsibilities
- Provide directions and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan.
- Implement standards, practices, criteria, and indicators for quality nursing.
- Practice nursing and health care in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders.
- Utilise human, material, and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
- Assist with relief duties of the supervisor and act as a shift leader when necessary.
- Promote and advocate proper treatment and care for patients.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care.
