Professional Nurse Grade 1 To 2 (Specialty Nursing: Nephrology)

Overview
Ensure quality patient care regarding the identification of nursing care needs, the planning & implementation of nursing care plans and the education of nursing personnel. Render and supervise specialised mental health nursing care and support clinical staff with operational functions in the unit.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse
- A post -basic nursing qualification, with durat ion of at least 1 year, accredited with SANC in terms of R212 in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Nephrology or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing (Adult)
- OR A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualific ation (R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse
- A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Critical Care Nursing (Adult) or Nephrology
- Registration with a professional council: Current annual registration with SANC as Professional Nurse
- Experience: Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing
- Grade 2 : A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing
- At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post -basic qualification or post -graduate diploma in the relevant specialty
